On January 23, local time, a foreign merchant ship was in distress in the southern waters of Oman. The Omani Coast Guard successfully rescued 21 crew members on board.
It is understood that the merchant vessel was flying the Togolese flag at the time of the incident. The hull leaked in the southern waters of Oman, and there was a danger of sinking. The Oman Coast Guard and the Maritime Security Center launched a rescue operation. In the end, 21 crew members trapped on the merchant ship were successfully rescued. All crew members were transported to Salalah Port and are currently in good health.
