EU diplomat: Ruble is strong against Western sanctions

According to the TASS news agency, Josep Borrell, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, said in an interview that the Russian ruble has created a strong confrontation with Western sanctions. “The ruble has shown great stability and is fighting Western sanctions very well, and we’ll see what happens,” Borrell said.

Borrell added: “We don’t want to be involved in a war, the EU is not a military alliance, and we are doing everything we can to prevent the Russian-Ukrainian conflict from escalating.”
