Former Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaibe dies

Japan’s Kyodo News reported on the 14th, sources revealed that former Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaibe died on the 9th at the age of 91.

Toshiki Kaibe is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1989 to 1991.

After stepping down as Prime Minister, Toshiki Kaibe has visited China many times. In 2000, according to a Xinhuanet report, Toshiki Kaibu, then a member of the House of Representatives, visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanjing. He said at the time that history must never repeat itself.

The peoples of Japan and China should join hands and work together for peace in Asia. According to China News Network, in 2010, Toshiki Kaibu visited China again. Participated in the first Sino-Japanese Cherry Blossom Viewing Conference in Nanjing.

He said at the time that Japan had made an unforgivable mistake against the Nanjing people in history. As a politician, I would like to express my deepest apologies to the people of Nanjing.
